In this summer course, CiRCE Certified Master Teacher Morgan Barclay will offer an introduction to The Lost Tools of Writing. Designed to help you teach your students, this LTW class for adults will model the teaching process, while also helping you improve your own writing and thinking. This webinar style class will engage a group of participants as models for a classroom. These sessions will reveal the ancient truths behind the LTW program while at the same time enable you to teach effectively and powerfully on a day to day basis. She will reveal how to solve the three problems all writers face, the questions that make for the kind of deep thinking that leads to good writing, and why writing doesn't need to be a stressful or intimidating process.
This shortened summer course will cover the big picture of LTW, some difficulties students and teachers encounter, and sample lessons. Over the course of six weeks, we will meet weekly in the evening for two hours online. She will provide a thorough introduction to the tools as well as the teaching of the tools. All essays will be covered during the six week period, which is twenty-four weeks of lessons in just six weeks. Join us for this new opportunity to learn The Lost Tools of Writing from home in only six weeks of July and August.
Reading The Lost Tools of Writing Teacher's Guide introduction and appendices is required prior to class. Teaching and reading individual lessons during the class weeks is also helpful.
