Classical Rhetoric: Lost Tools of Writing Level I with Fairy tales, Folktales, and Fables

Teacher: Larissa Craft

Cinderella teaches us to be obedient to suffering; Little Red Riding Hood assures us that evil will be defeated; Beauty and the Beast shows us the transformative power of love.  In the Tale of Snow White, we see persecution contrasted with a pure heart. In the Little Mermaid we see a meek sacrifice, as Christ sacrificed himself, rewarded with an eternal blessing.

In this course, we will delve into the world of Fairy Tales, Folktales, and Fables while working through LTW I. Through studying the 3 canons of Invention, Arrangement, and Elocution, students will learn to respectfully and critically read, write, and discuss. They will discover the tools for not only writing and thinking, but also the tools for walking the path of the Beatitudes.
