How to Build a Classical . . . School, Homeschool, Co-op - A Six Week Intensive
When: Tuesdays, Jan 26 - Mar 2, 4-5:30 pm ET
Who: Andrew Kern
Where: Online!
Open to high school age through adults. Can't make the class live? Everyone who signs up will receive the recordings to watch later.
Classical education is out of sync with our age, and yet the cry of the heart for a classical education can be heard throughout our land - and the whole world. This six-session intensive explores the how of building (starting, growing, even transitioning to) a classical school, homeschool, or some sort of combination.
You’ll learn some important ideas that distinguish classical education, how to lay foundations that will last, and how to practice and sustain it in your setting. If you are transitioning to classical, you’ll adapt the distinctive, foundations, and practices to your challenging circumstances with a view to the long term.
You’ll also learn about the seven dimensions* that must be harmonized in every school or home to realize the dream of classical education: their nature and purpose, how to align them, and how to protect them from harmful influences.
The seven dimensions are:
- The cosmos, or the created world
- The aeon, or the world made by man
- The community
- Governance
- Curriculum
- Pedagogy
- Assessment
Includes resources and follow-up activities.
