Soprano Laura Dawalt studied voice at the Wheaton College conservatory, and received her MM and DMA from UNC Greensboro in vocal performance with a  concentration in pedagogy and diction. She enjoys singing early music and has performed solo and chamber works at Duke Chapel, Averett University, the New England Conservatory and the Boston Early Music Festival. Dr. Dawalt considers herself a Carolina girl, and has sung in operas at Brevard's Janeic Opera, the Roanoke Island Festival, and UNCG; where she sang in a world premiere of the opera Picnic. Her voice students at Greensboro College and Averett University have won awards in classical and music theater competitions. She seeks to promote the liberal arts by performing in recitals and benefit concerts with chamber groups such as The Imaginary Friends, which she co-founded; Amici Music; and the Greensboro Vocal Consort.
