Joe Wysocki is the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of the Great Books Honors College at Belmont Abbey College. He has taught Government and Political Philosophy at the Abbey since 2010 and is deeply interested in classical political philosophy, Constitutional Law, and American political thought, especially the thought of Alexis de Tocqueville. Joe received his B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Belmont Abbey College and his M.A. and Ph.D in Political Science at Baylor University. He serves on the Council of Scholars for the American Academy for Liberal Education and the North Carolina Internship Council. He is also the homeschooling father of four along with his wife of eight years, Jeanne. He enjoys reading to his children and taking them camping, hiking, and fishing in the North Carolina mountains. His oldest children, Joe and Frank, were actually not named after the Hardy Boys, though it would be pretty great if they were. His daughters Molly and Rosie are glad that they were not named Nancy Drew.
