After a nearly decade-long career in semiconductor process engineering (a.k.a. playing with electrons),  Amanda Butler stumbled into her true vocation while teaching in Vacation Bible School. Teaching became her passion. Since making the transition from electrons to students, she has taught in various capacities including public school, private school, homeschooling, and private tutoring. Realizing there was more to teaching than a curriculum's Teacher Guide, Amanda enrolled in graduated from CiRCE's East Coast Apprenticeship in 2016. Presently, she serves as a Classical Conversations 7th grade tutor for 12 insightful and incorrigible students and administers academic development and change management within Classical Conversations. She also leads CiRCE Atrium colloquies and hosts numerous book clubs out of her home. It has been rumored that she even teaches Latin in her sleep.  Amanda and her husband, Ryan, reside near Austin, TX with their two children Emily and Isaac.
