St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic School, a parish school within the Archdiocese of San Antonio, announces the renewal of this 90 year old community within the Classical Liberal Arts Tradition: A renewed school within a storied tradition—at the heart of the Church. The school seeks K-5 classroom teachers to help lead students to wholeness in the image of Jesus Christ. Under the leadership and direction of the Head of the School and under the care of the pastor of the parish, the key duties of the teacher will be: To participate in a faculty culture of faith and friendship centered on the love of Christ and the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. This culture will be formed through shared faith formation, sharing meals and drinks together, and participating in seminar discussion on beauitful literature together. To foster joyful order in the classroom and school and help inspire in students a sense of wonder and a delight in learning To help instill in students a piety for God and a love of neighbor To form students and call them to virtuous living through the implementation of an intentional discipline policy To teach a variety of disciplines to students: Catechesis, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and History To work with school leadership in coaching sessions with the goal of improving in the craft of teaching Requirements: Applicants must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church Teaching experience (whether parochial, charter, or private) is beneficial but not required Familiarity with the Core Knowledge program, Spalding Phonics, and Singapore Mathematics is beneficial but not required. A humble but unapologetic desire to joyfully pass on the fullness of the Faith and the treasures of Western culture to the young is an absolute necessity This renewal effort will require a kind of missionary zeal.
