The Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by working with the Principal in the overall management of the school, faculty, staff, and students, with a major emphasis on curriculum and instruction. Along with a love for learning, an appreciation for the humanities, and a liberal arts background, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have teaching experience, and be in the process of pursuing a master’s degree (or enter a program as a condition for employment). This candidate should understand how learning is best accomplished when curriculum and instruction are aligned with the developmental stages of children. The candidate should be able to articulate the content and instructional methods that reflect this understanding. A familiarity with classical education is preferred. The candidate should understand how a Catholic worldview permeates the curriculum and instruction, understand the role of the moral imagination to elementary education, and be an intentional disciple of Christ committed to providing a Gospel witness. Priority will be placed on applicants who uphold the importance of personal values, moral standards, and integrity by being a role model in the school community.
