The Dean of Student Affairs focuses on three general areas pertaining to the well-being of students: 1) overseeing a series of new programs that strengthen advisory, counseling, parent education/assistance, and student life initiatives, 2) bringing clarity and consistency to non-academic student policies and their enforcement, and 3) coordinating existing efforts among a variety of positions involved with student care. Many of these responsibilities will span all three divisions (lower, middle, & upper), bringing a sense of coherence and connection to the student journey from Pre-K to 12th Grade. The Dean of Student Affairs will provide leadership development to Middle and Upper School Advisors and Grade Chairs, as well as to staff and students who organize student life activities. A key area of focus will be to ensure consistency of non-academic student behavior policies and their enforcement, meeting with students and parents to help resolve issues when necessary.
