San Luis Obispo Classical Academy (SLOCA) is looking for a dynamic teacher to instruct in the humanities at the upper middle school level (7th and 8th grade). Applicants must have at least 2 years teaching experience, relevant education/experience in the listed subjects, be adept at making connections across curricular subjects and have excellent references. Subjects covered in class: writing, grammar, history, literature. This position is full-time. As a vital part of the SLOCA team, the Teacher is responsible for providing effective and engaging instruction in line with the classical tradition and unique qualities of the school. The Teacher is to provide a safe, dynamic environment for students and is to build and lead supportive partnerships with their students’ parents and/or caregivers. They are also to serve as active participants in the community, be contributors to the team, and embrace SLOCA’s mission, vision and core values.
