School of the Ozarks, a laboratory school of College of the Ozarks, invites applications for full or part-time faculty positions for kindergarten and/or art instructor for grades 1-12. Starting date is August 2017 with up to ten required training dates in the summer; rank and salary commensurate with qualifications, experience, and full or part-time status. Kindergarten is half-day and art classes meet for as many as 14 class hours per week. Masters degree or higher preferred but not required. Primary responsibility would include individual classroom management in kindergarten or art, with the possibility of a combination of the two. The position is considered a College of the Ozarks faculty position, teaching in the laboratory high school under the direction of the dean, Mr. Brad Dolloff. Preference will be given to one who has successfully demonstrated the ability to build relationships with and maintain high expectations for students. The candidate should also demonstrate an understanding of classical Christian education, as well as the desire and talent to implement a classical curriculum, while maintaining positive relationships with students, parents and faculty. The successful candidate must embrace the College and School’s Christ-centered mission. One should also demonstrate excellence in teaching kindergarten and/or instructing art students in grades 1-12. Candidates for teaching art should possess a thorough knowledge of all art forms as well as the impact of art on culture throughout history. All candidates should have a commitment to serving as a mentor and positive role model. School of the Ozarks is a small (fewer than 20 students per class in kindergarten; up to 25 in each high school class), classical Christian school on the campus of College of the Ozarks.
