1st Grade Teacher – School of the Ozarks, a laboratory school of College of the Ozarks, invites applications for a full-time faculty position for 1st grade. Starting date is August 2019 with some required training dates in July; rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Master’s degree or higher preferred but not required. Preference will be given to one who has successfully demonstrated the ability to build relationships with and maintain high expectations for 1st grade students. The candidate should also demonstrate an understanding of classical Christian education, as well as the desire and talent to implement a classical curriculum, while maintaining positive relationships with students, parents and faculty. The position is considered a College of the Ozarks faculty position, teaching in the laboratory school under the direction of the dean, Mr. Brad Dolloff. The successful candidate must embrace the College and School’s Christ-centered mission and demonstrate excellence in teaching elementary students, as well as a commitment to serving as a mentor and positive role model. School of the Ozarks is a small (no more than 20 students per class), classical Christian school on the campus of College of the Ozarks, a liberal arts, work-study college with a commitment to evangelical Christian faith and service located in southwest Missouri near Branson (www.cofo.edu/highschool).
