Providence Classical School is in need of a full-time Upper School Humanities teacher who loves Jesus, loves students, loves classical Christian education, and loves history, literature, and writing. Applicants interested in this position should have a strong background in European history and literature, with skill in teaching writing. The PCS Humanities curriculum progresses chronologically, with each grade studying the history and literature of a particular time period, beginning with Ancient history and literature in 7th grade (see the full scope and sequence here). Most teachers in the Humanities Department teach both the history and English classes for a particular grade level, though other combinations of courses are possible depending on need and on teachers’ expertise. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.
