Parnassus Preparatory Academy is a twice-weekly drop-off academic enrichment program supporting homeschool students in their pursuit of classical education. Classes are led by passionate and knowledgeable teachers and provide academic accountability and meaningful socialization. Parnassus Preparatory Academy is a community that forges moral and civic virtue, fosters wisdom, and nurtures a lifelong passion for learning. We are seeking Junior K to 8th-grade classroom teachers for 2 or 4 days per week. Teachers are the heart of the program at Parnassus Preparatory Academy. Without dedicated, competent teachers, the best educational practices will never come to fruition in the classroom. We seek teachers who are dedicated to the craft of teaching, know and love the subjects they teach, who understand and love children, and who are prepared to model the intellectual and moral virtue we seek to cultivate in our students. Candidates should have a college degree. Classroom teachers need not have a teaching credential, although knowledge in their subjects is desired. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced academic degree. A classical education background is helpful but not required. All teachers at Parnassus Preparatory Academy are responsible for the intellectual and moral atmosphere of the program. As such, candidates should: § be well-organized § be able to communicate professionally with families § exhibit intellectual curiosity § use precise, edifying, and moderate speech § contribute to a collegial faculty across the program Hours: 8:30-3:45 Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday with the option to work all four days for the right candidate (Online or In-Person opportunities) Job Type: Part-time Salary: $150.00 to $180.00 /day
