Jackson Hole Classical Academy seeks an art teacher with a passion for teaching the classical skills of drawing and painting, as well as the history to support each lesson. Ideal candidates for this position will be gifted teachers who love their subjects and their students and are familiar with classical content and methods, and preferably experienced with the Charlotte Mason’s approach to habit formation. Our teachers challenge students academically and instill within them a love for what is true, good and beautiful; they serve as models, guides and mentors to help students reach their human and God-given potential. High expectations are set for students, and they are provided a high level of support. Similarly, we expect our teachers to embrace an ethic of personal growth and professional improvement, and we equip them with nationally recognized mentors and classical training. While the curriculum of JH Classical Academy focuses upon Western Civilization and embraces the Christian heritage that undergirds American society, it is not a bible-centric course of study. As a Christian school, however, we do require our teaching faculty to hold a personal and living faith in Jesus Christ, to be in agreement with the Nicene Creed espoused by both Protestant and Catholic believers, and to be pursuing lives of virtue as examples for their students. The Academy seeks teachers who long to participate in the renewal of education and, through it, the renewing of American culture. Fall 2018 will mark our measured expansion from K-8 into high school with the addition of 9th and 10th grade. We are over-subscribed for elementary grades, which are capped at 15 students per class. A new facility is being planned that would double our capacity in 3-4 years. In anticipation of future growth, we do encourage excellent teachers seeking positions other than those currently open to begin a dialogue with us now. Jackson Hole, gateway to both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, is visually stunning and offers an unsurpassed quality of life. Weekend and summer recreation opportunities abound. The attractiveness of Jackson makes housing difficult to find; we do assist incoming teachers in that search.
