Jackson Hole Classical Academy seeks a 3rd Grade teacher, preferably experienced with both Singapore Math and Spalding Phonics. Ideal candidates for all positions will be gifted teachers who love their subjects and their students and are familiar with classical content and methods. Experience with the Charlotte Mason’s approach to habit formation would be helpful but is not required. Elementary teachers cover a core liberal arts curriculum in language arts, math, history and science, and are supported by specials teachers in art, music, Latin, PE and chess. Our teachers challenge students academically and instill within them a love for what is true, good and beautiful. Teachers serve as models, guides and mentors to help students reach their human and God-given potential. High academic expectations are set for students, and teachers provide a high level of support. Similarly, we expect our teachers to embrace an ethic of personal growth and professional improvement, and we equip them with nationally recognized mentors and training in classical curriculum and philosophy. The curriculum of JH Classical Academy focuses upon Western Civilization and embraces the classical heritage that undergirds American society. The Academy seeks teachers who long to participate in the renewal of education and, through it, the renewing of American culture. Fall 2018 will mark our measured expansion from K-9 into 10th Grade. Our classrooms are capped at 15 students per class. A new facility is being planned that would double our capacity in 2-3 years. In anticipation of future growth, we encourage excellent teachers seeking positions other than those currently open to begin a dialogue with us now. Jackson Hole, gateway to both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, is visually stunning and offers an unsurpassed quality of life. Weekend and summer recreation opportunities abound. The attractiveness of Jackson makes housing difficult to find; we do assist incoming teachers in that search.
