Eagle Ridge Academy seeks an energetic and dynamic Executive Director to continue the school’s commitment to academic excellence within a safe and nurturing environment. The Executive Director is the leader of the school and responsible for day-to-day operations. The Executive Director will hire, supervise, and evaluate leadership positions, consult on the hiring/evaluation of faculty and staff; oversee the development and updates to curriculum; ensure standards are maintained or exceeded; ensure all board policies and procedures are followed and that the Academy complies with all federal and state laws as well as authorizer regulations. In addition, s/he will work with the Board of Directors and will report the status of the school during monthly Board meetings; maintain financial security and a balanced budget, to include a fund balance; and promote Eagle Ridge Academy throughout the city, state, and region. Exceptional communication skills are a necessity for this position, as the Executive Director is charged with creating a positive atmosphere among students, parents, teachers, alumni, fellow Friends of Education authorized schools, and donors. The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree or higher in educational administration and will have experience as a teacher (5-10 years) and as a school administrator (5-10 years). Previous leadership experience in a charter school is desirable. Founded in 2004, Eagle Ridge Academy is a public charter school serving students in grades K-12 with nearly 1,400 students. Job Type: Full-time Required Qualifications • Master’s Degree in Education. • K-12 Principal’s License or Administrator’s License. • Five years of experience as an Executive Director/Principal/School Administrator. • Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative interpersonal style. • Experience managing the daily operations of a K-12 school or other educational program. • Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently, as well as the ability to delegate and work as a member of a team. • Superior written and oral communication skills. • An approachable, accessible, compassionate individual with the ability to bring the school and community together in a partnership. • Proven ability to foster a positive work environment for staff.
