Full-time Science Teacher Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory Beginning Fall 2021 Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory, a Catholic, classical high school, seeks a dynamic teacher with a background in the liberal arts to teach science. We seek a versatile teacher whose love of science is matched by their love of teaching and forming high school students in the Catholic faith. The 2021-2022 academic year will have 9th through 11th grades at the school. As such, the selected candidate will teach all or some of the following classes: Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, and in another area of the curriculum in which they are qualified. Subsequent academic years will allow the science teacher to focus solely on science with the addition of Physics. Teachers must have a passion for a Catholic liberal arts education, and must be able to lead a dialectically driven classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of the connections between mathematics, sciences, fine arts, and the humanities, as well as a passion for inspiring wonder and excellence in students. The candidate should feel comfortable teaching and modeling the scientific method and conducting biology and chemistry labs in the classroom. Foundational for any candidate is that they profess fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Depending on the candidate, part time options to teach science may also be available. A B.S. or higher in one of the sciences and teaching experience or training in classical/liberal arts schools preferred. The position is full-time, beginning August 1, 2021, with a competitive salary based on experience. Part time options may also be available.
