CHELSEA ACADEMY HEAD OF SCHOOL POSITION DESCRIPTION Chelsea Academy is a nationally ranked independent private Catholic school for children in grades four through twelve. The ideal candidate should Have a knowledge and love of the teachings of the Catholic Church; Have experience as an educator, ideally in a Catholic school setting; Have experience in school administration; Be knowledgeable in curriculum development and a traditional Catholic liberal arts education; Be collegial and collaborative; Be able work with the board of directors, administrative team, faculty, and parents toward a common goal; Have strong leadership abilities and excellent people management skills; Possess superior written and oral communication skills; Have experience managing an institutional operations budget; and Be willing to relocate to the Front Royal, VA area. The head of school reports directly to the Chelsea Academy Board of Directors and is responsible for school operations and personnel administration, including hiring, supervision, and training. In addition, the head of school oversees academic performance, student life, and Chelsea Academy’s curriculum, and ensures conformance with all laws and regulations. The Chelsea Academy Board of Directors appoints the head of school, who must have a collaborative relationship with the board. The head of school leads Chelsea Academy in accordance with its mission and philosophy, and cultivates relationships within the Chelsea Academy community and the Diocese of Arlington.
