Bishop Baraga Catholic School (BBCS) in Iron Mountain, Michigan, seeks a Kindergarten teacher for the 2017-'18 school year. Located just over the Menominee River from Wisconsin in Michigan's beautiful western Upper Peninsula, BBCS is a Pre-K through 8th grade school in the Diocese of Marquette. BBCS is known for all of the following: • academically rigorous content using the Classical liberal arts model • a vibrant Catholic identity • a loving, family atmosphere Preference will be given to candidates for this position who know and love children, who have a passion for the subjects they teach, and who are able to model the moral and intellectual virtues we seek to inculcate in our students. The candidate should also understand how a Catholic worldview permeates the curriculum and instruction and be an intentional disciple of Christ committed to providing a Gospel witness. As part of a strong staff, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in a faculty culture of faith and friendship centered on the love of Christ, and the seeking of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. This culture will be shared through faith formation, participating in seminar discussion of quality literature, and through the regular breaking of bread together at staff meetings and/or social gatherings. Experience with Classical content and methods is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Singapore Math is also beneficial but not required.
