Minimum Requirements: High school diploma/Some college preferred Previous experience working with children Must be able to pass a local criminal history check, a fingerprint background check Be self-motivated, organized and able to prioritize and multi-task. Telephone skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office skills Written and verbal communication skills Responsibilities: Screen for hearing, vision, spinal and acanthosis. Report screening results in TxEIS data management system and to parents. Input and maintain immunizations in TxEIS. Communicate with parents on upcoming or vaccinations needed. Administer first aid and prescription and non-prescriptions medications to students. Maintain Health Office Visit forms through TxEIS. Communication with parents regarding Student Care. Prepare medication and any Student Care needs for field trips and field days. Develops a positive, welcoming, and caring climate in student care. Understands, accepts, and abides by the School’s philosophy and mission statement in all his/her school activities. Consistently exhibits high standards of professional conduct. Requires basic clerical skills and knowledge of office practices and procedures that involve the operation of standard office. Performs record-keeping and general clerical duties. Works with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with others, and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. Able to read, comprehend and apply job-related written material and make decisions in accordance with applicable school system policies and procedures. Able to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing. Able to honor confidential information. Cross train in receptionist duties. Perform other duties as assigned by Administrator.
