Food Service operational experience. Minimum Experience: Minimum of three years (3) experience in school food service industry in a supervisor capacity. Purpose / Job Description: The food service manager is a working manager and will be expected to participate in the activities required of all Food Service employees. The manager will be responsible for supervising, controlling, directing and participating in the preparation and serving of food, the storage of all food and supplies, and the sanitation of kitchens. The manager will maintain and perform all tasks necessary for the proper accountability of all required records. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain required records including food production, inventory, and meal counts 2. Point of Sale system maintenance. (Summer Maintenance) 3. Secure deliveries of food products and milk by cross referencing and checking off items listed on purchase order while comparing to delivery receipt. 4. Manages food service operations including staff supervision, food production and service, marketing, safety and sanitation. 5. Oversees and/or participates in menu planning and posting 6. Ensure sack lunches ordered on field trip days. 7. Responsible for production and maintenance of breakfast and lunch menus 8. Coordinates work of all food service assistant in preparing and serving food and cleaning. 9. Forecasts and plans the purchase of food, supplies and equipment 10. Receives, stores, handles, prepares and serves food according to established standards. 11. Assures that sanitation and safety practices comply with federal, state and local regulations 12. Accepts responsibility for multiple tasks without supervision 13. Follows a work schedule, plans ahead, and helps others on the child nutrition team 14. Production and submission of monthly TDA claims. 15. Maintains required system of accountability 16. Assist with free/reduced lunch applications as needed. 17. Assist as needed with production & dispersal of letters of funds due to parents for cafeteria charges. 18. Attends job-related training classes and workshops 19. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor 20. Report to Food Service Director on issues of concern. Contact Business Manager in Directors absence. 21. Create Production Reports one month in advance 22. Maintain an inventory check list to be completed weekly and monthly.
