Aware that America desperately needs leaders like those who signed the Declaration of Independence, parents look to the schools and wonder: • Who will teach our children to value Liberty so they can protect and preserve this gift for future generations? • Who will model Gratitude for them so they become aware of how privileged they are to live in this Land of Opportunity? • Who will show them the true value of E Pluribus Unum, modeling how a diverse nation can unite around shared values? Agamim Academy is seeking to be the answer in our community by developing the highest level of academic, social, and emotional excellence in each K-8 student. As an essential component of Agamim's rigorous classical, Core Knowledge curriculum, students will engage in daily Hebrew language learning and study the rich culture of Israel. Agamim seeks a leader who embraces this vision to oversee the school's development, management, and daily operations. The Headmaster at Agamim will possess demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in public school settings. Charged with the responsibility to lead a start-up school, Agamim's Headmaster will be the chief disseminator of the school's vision and will inspire staff, teachers, and students while representing the school as its chief spokesperson to the community. The Headmaster will have the following: Duties/responsibilities: Accountable to: The Board of Directors 1. As instructional leader, value and uphold the tenants of a classical education and be looked upon to embody and model the character traits most valued at the school 2. Develop, refine, and disseminate Agamim's vision to and with the board, as well as to the administration, faculty, parents, and students 3. Provide leadership, supervision, and evaluation of the instructional program 4. Oversee the implementation of the long-term strategic planning of the school 5. Oversee student recruitment by meeting with and attracting families 6. Develop and implement a plan to attract, recruit, and retain outstanding, qualified teachers 7. Oversee the assignment, evaluation, and development of the teaching staff 8. Oversee student discipline by working with faculty 9. Oversee curriculum selection, implementation, evaluation, and development 10. Maintain accountability for daily school operations including accounting, building maintenance, lunch program, and utilities Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in classics, education, business/accounting, or another related field 2. Minimum of 7 years of teaching experience 3. Experience in school leadership 4. Working knowledge of and passion for classical education and/or Core Knowledge sequence
