There are stories that leave an indelible mark on the heart for a lifetime. Stories about friendship, sacrifice, and adventure. They enchant our imaginations and feed our souls. In this course, we will read classic stories such as Charlotte’s Web, Wind in the Willows, Little Mermaid, Velveteen Rabbit, and Pinocchio while learning the skills of IEW’s Structure and Style writing method. Students will spend the year working on key word outlines, summarizing references, and reports, as well as learning to add beauty and interest to their writing with “dress-ups.” IEW’s Structure and Style engages the student while providing a solid foundation of techniques that can be integrated into many types of essays.
