Pre-Conference: Scholé, Rest, and the Modern Teacher

Much has been made lately, especially in certain circles, of the idea of teaching from rest. But where does this come from and why is it so important? Why do we here at CiRCE and so many of our like-minded friends spend so much time contemplating this particular subject? Join us for our 2016 pre-conference event as we contemplate the history of Scholé, how to implement it in our homes and schools in 2016, and much, much more.

Featuring Sarah Mackenzie, author of the popular Teaching from Rest: A Homeschooler's Guide to Unshakeable Peace; Christopher Perrin, founder of Classical Academic Press; and Andrew Kern, president of CiRCE, this event promises to be a contemplative, enlightening, and inspiring conversation on one of the defining topics of the modern classical education movement.

WHEN: Wednesday, July 13, 2016, 9 am - 4 pm
WHERE: The Francis Marion Hotel, Charleston, SC (The Gold Ballroom)
WHO: Sarah Mackenzie, Christopher Perrin, Andrew Kern
COST: $125 (includes a light breakfast and lunch)

This event is also open to non-conference attendees.
